The Lions Eye Bank of Oregon Medical Advisory Committee is a forum for ophthalmologists and medical professionals to provide the Eye Bank with guidance and expertise to ensure that the needs of the community of scientists, educators, and transplanting surgeons are being met. The Medical Advisory Committee provides valuable insight to complicated medical and legal issues that face the Eye Bank in its daily mission to provide high quality ocular tissue for research, education, and transplant. Medical Directors of the Lions Eye Bank of Oregon are members of the Medical Advisory Committee.

Winston Chamberlain , M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Chamberlain received his BS in biology from California Institute of Technology. He holds a PhD in immunology and an MD from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Chamberlain received his fellowship in cornea from the University of California, Irvine. He is board certified in ophthalmology, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. His research interests include the outcomes of corneal transplant surgery with the femtosecond laser and DSAEK techniques, and inflammatory responses in the cornea. Dr. Chamberlain is an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology of Oregon Health and Science University.

Peter Marsh , M.D.
Dr. Marsh received his BS from Pepperdine University and attended Oregon Health and Science University Medical School. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. Dr. Marsh then completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Marsh has been practicing cornea and cataract surgery at Kaiser Permanente in Portland, Oregon since 1998.

Neda Shamie , M.D.
Dr. Shamie received her BS from University of California, Los Angeles and attended University of California, San Francisco Medical School. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of California Medical Center, Irvine, California. Dr. Shamie then completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Shamie practices at the Dever's Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon. She has numerous clinical and research interests including kertatolimbal allografts and endothelial keratoplasty.
