The Lions are the bedrock of the community support enjoyed by the eye bank. As an official project of the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, the Lions of Multiple District 36 (State of Oregon) serve to provide stewardship to the eye bank. The Lions have also been outstanding financial supporters of the eye bank, most often coming through with funding for durable equipment. Representative Lions comprise the Board of Directors and provide guidance for the eye bank, ensuring our work is consistent with our goals.
As couriers, the Lions also provide the invaluable service of transporting tissue around the state in order to facilitate rapid processing of the precious eye donations that occur all over the state and in Clark County, Washington. Lions will typically carry eye tissue any time, day and night, well over 1000 times a year.
