Many families of organ and tissue donors have been thankful that something positive has come from the death of their loved one. Many people are unaware that when someone dies in a hospital it is a federal regulation that hospital staff approach families about donation options for their loved one. When families have discussed end of life decisions prior to death, it makes the conversation much easier, because the family knows the wishes of their loved one.
